ABDULHADİ TURUS

Abdulhadi Turus was born in 1982 in Stuttgart, Germany. He completed part of his primary education in Germany and his secondary education in his hometown of Elazığ, Türkiye. He received his bachelor's degree in International Relations from Near East University and completed his master's degree at the Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University. Mr. TURUS joined the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in 2011 and was appointed as an Advisor to the Prime Ministry in 2014. Between 2011 and 2018, he served as Chief of Staff at TİKA.

In November 2018, he was appointed Vice President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB). During his tenure as Vice President, he oversaw activities concerning the Turkish diaspora of approximately seven million people living abroad, as well as kin and related communities spread across a vast geographical area extending from the Balkans to Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Middle East, and North Africa, including communities with Ottoman heritage.

Actively involved in numerous international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Mr. TURUS also played a key role in the establishment of the Traditional Sports Complex in Ankara, built on an area of approximately 40 decares (10 acres). The complex features facilities for traditional sports such as horseback riding and traditional archery, as well as a 20-classroom Culture and Arts Academy. Since 2017, he has served as Head of Executive Coordination of the facility.

As a member of the Board of Directors of the World Ethnosport Confederation, Mr. TURUS spearheaded the organization of numerous international events. In 2022, he served as Deputy Chair of the Organizing Committee for the 4th World Nomad Games, held in İznik, Bursa, with the participation of approximately 3,000 athletes from 102 countries.

In 2025, Mr. TURUS was elected President of the Turkish Traditional Sports Branches Federation, a position he currently holds alongside his ongoing work in civil society. Pursuant to Presidential Decision No. 2026/74, published in the Official Gazette No. 33189 dated 7 March 2026, Mr. Abdulhadi TURUS was appointed President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB). Mr. TURUS has a command of English and German, is married, and has two children.
