2026 Term Commenced for YTB Türkiye Internships Program

The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) contributes to the academic and professional development of youth living abroad through the Türkiye Internships Program, while enabling them to gain field experience by bringing them together with Türkiye’s leading defense industry institutions.

Within the scope of the YTB Türkiye Internships Program, which provides young people belonging to the Turkish diaspora living abroad with professional experience at Türkiye’s leading defense industry companies, 115 young engineers qualified to complete internships in 2026. An opening meeting was held at YTB for the 2026 interns. The young engineers who qualified to participate in the program met with YTB President Abdulhadi Turus at the opening meeting.

​“We Attach Great Importance to Bringing Our Youth Together with Türkiye’s Defense Industry and Technology Ecosystem”

​In his speech, YTB President Abdulhadi Turus drew attention to the importance of connecting young people with Türkiye’s defense industry and technology ecosystem, stating: “Today at our YTB, we hosted our young people who will complete internships at the leading institutions of our defense industry within the scope of our Türkiye Internships Program. We attach great importance to our youth meeting Türkiye’s defense industry and technology ecosystem while continuing their education in various fields of engineering and technology.”

​Stating that young people will gain significant experience in both professional and cultural aspects within the scope of the program, Turus remarked: “While our youth find the opportunity to work alongside teams of experts in their fields, get to know corporate operations closely, and develop their academic knowledge with practical experience throughout the program, they will also get to know our country’s historical and cultural richness closely and have the opportunity to explore different cities through the cultural programs we organize.”

​At the end of his speech, Turus wished all young participants a productive and successful internship period.

​Türkiye Internships Program

​Initiated in 2023 in cooperation with TAI (TUSAŞ) under the name “SKY GLOBAL TÜRK,” the scope of the Türkiye Internships Program expanded over the years with the participation of new defense industry companies. With ASELSAN joining the program in 2026 and TEI participating with its online internship program, the number of stakeholders in the program rose to six.

​Bringing together qualified young engineers studying abroad—primarily in Germany, France, Canada, the USA, and the UK—with defense industry companies in Türkiye, the program subject candidates studying in the fields of aerospace, software, mechanical, electrical-electronics, and industrial engineering to a specialized selection process.

​The 2026 program is carried out in three terms. The first term is held at TAI between August 10 and September 4, the second term is organized at ASELSAN between August 17 and September 11, while the third term will be conducted between September 7 and October 2 with the participation of TAI, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, and STM.
