The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) organized an iftar program for 500 people in the town of Burch Islam in Syria's Bayırbucak region, with the participation of members of our related communities, families of martyrs, Türkiye alumni, those in need, and the local community.

The iftar program aimed to strengthen ties with related communities in Syria, reunite with Türkiye alumni, and reinforce communication channels with the prominent figures in the region.
Speaking at the program, YTB President Abdulhadi Turus stated that Syria has undergone a severe trial over the last 13 years, saying: “It has seen war, it has seen exile, it
has seen destruction. But it did not lose its honor. It did not lose its identity. It did not lose its brotherhood.”

Turus expressed that the whole world witnessed the pain and suffering endured during the years-long arduous struggle for rights, which were sacrificed for a free Syria
that protects its faith and spirit. He stated: “I remember with mercy our noble Syrian martyrs who sacrificed their lives for this cause. The debt we owe to our veterans, who stepped forward without hesitation, is immense. May Allah be pleased with each of them.”
Emphasizing that the Bayırbucak Turkmens are among the most important representatives of this resilience, Turus said that Turkmens have put forward a great struggle by preserving their identity and history. Turus used the following expressions: “Being Turkmen means loyalty, it means devotion, it means standing tall during difficult times. We are witnesses to your fortitude, your friendship, and your faith.”

Stating that Türkiye has never seen Syria merely as a border neighbor, Turus noted that the bond between the two countries goes beyond diplomatic texts and is born from a thousand-year-old shared history, shared pains, and shared joys. Turus also noted that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the leader who has never forgotten this bond and trust, and who powerfully advocates for a Free Syria on international platforms.
Also speaking at the program, the Governor of Latakia, Muhammed Osman, expressed his honor in participating in the brotherhood iftar organized with YTB, noting that Bayırbucak Turkmens and guests from Türkiye came together at the iftar table in a beautiful atmosphere. Osman emphasized that such programs would strengthen the rapprochement between the peoples of Syria and Türkiye and reinforce the bonds of brotherhood and love.

Emphasizing the strengthening of brotherhood ties, the Consul General to Aleppo, Muammer Hakan Cengiz, expressed his great happiness in participating in an iftar program organized in such a sincere climate of brotherhood, stating that such gatherings contribute significantly to the consolidation of unity, solidarity, and shared values.
