EREN: “It is extremely important that those responsible are brought to justice”

Abdullah Eren, President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), condemned the racist attack on Eving Selimiye Sports Club operating in Dortmund, Germany, and said, "It is extremely important that such racist attacks are seriously investigated by the German authorities and those responsible are brought to justice."

A racist attack was carried out on Eving Selimiye Sports Club, operating in Dortmund, Germany, late in the evening of Monday, February 24. In the attack carried out by unidentified people, the sign at the entrance of the association was removed and the phrase "Turks, you will die" was written on the back with blood-colored paint and a Nazi sign was drawn.

YTB ​​President Eren condemned the attack and made a statement on his social media account. Stating that this act of hate was not only done to a sports club but to all segments of society, Eren said, “I regretfully condemn the racist attack on Eving Selimiye Sports Club, founded by Turks in Dortmund, Germany. This unacceptable act of hate is a direct attack not only on a sports club, but also on the unifying power of sports and social peace. It is extremely important that such racist attacks are seriously investigated by the German authorities and those responsible are brought to justice. As Türkiye, we will always stand by the Turkish community in Germany, which is an integral part of Germany!” he said.
