Pazartesi, Mayıs 11, 2026
The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) was deemed worthy of an award at the 2026 PAM Awards organized by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), due to its outstanding humanitarian aid and educational activities carried out in conflict zones.
At the ceremony held in Budva, Montenegro, the award was presented for YTB’s contributions to regional peace through its work under the theme of “Providing Humanitarian Aid in Conflict Zones.”
The Name of Hope in Crisis Regions: YTB
YTB has garnered great international acclaim for the projects it carries out in geographies under the shadow of crises and conflicts, from Syria to Palestine, and from Afghanistan to Ukraine. The primary reasons highlighted for granting the award were:
Joint scholarship projects carried out with institutions and organizations,
On-site scholarship programs for Palestine and Syria,
Anatolian Cultural Centers established in Afrin, Azaz, and Al-Bab,
Logistical and humanitarian aid for Crimean Tatars and those in need in Afghanistan.
“Lasting Peace is Only Possible Through Justice”

Vice President Murat Kazancı accepted the award on behalf of YTB at the ceremony attended by PAM delegates, representatives of international institutions, and members of the TBMM Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean. In his speech at the ceremony, Kazancı emphasized that lasting peace is only possible through justice and stated that this award reinforces YTB’s motivation to maintain its human-centered civilization vision.
Full Support from the Parliament and Diplomacy Line
This award, given with the appreciation of PAM Turkish Group President and Antalya Deputy Atay Uslu—who
played a critical role in the coordination of the process and Türkiye’s representation in the assembly—and all member state parliamentarians, has once again registered Türkiye’s power in cultural diplomacy.
YTB President Abdulhadi Turus: "We Will Continue to Make Humanitarian Diplomacy the Key to Lasting Peace"
Making an evaluation regarding the award, YTB President Abdulhadi Turus summarized the institution's future vision with these words:
"In regions left in the shadow of conflicts, from Syria to Palestine, and from Afghanistan to Ukraine; from our educational scholarships to our on-site support programs, from logistical aid to the construction of our cultural centers, we will continue to be the carriers of peace and hope at every step, to extend a hand to our brothers and sisters in crisis regions with our human-centered civilization vision, and to make education and humanitarian diplomacy the key to lasting peace."
