The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) brought together international students studying in Edirne for an iftar program.

As part of a program organized by YTB, international students in Edirne gathered around the iftar table. Before the meal, YTB President Abdullah Eren had a conversation with the students and later delivered a speech.

Eren highlighted that Edirne, once the capital of the Ottoman Empire, now hosts students from all around the world. He emphasized that international students are studying in a city rich in history and culture.  Describing YTB as an institution engaged in educational and cultural diplomacy, Eren stated:  "Currently, we have 15,000 scholarship students from 182 countries around the world. These students continue their education in various cities across Turkey. In the coming years, we plan to increase the number of students in Edirne as well. Edirne, as a frontier city and former imperial capital, has a governor dedicated to reviving its historical and cultural heritage. We fully support the governor’s efforts to extend Edirne’s historical and cultural influence to the Balkans, and we will continue to contribute to this mission."

Speaking at the event, Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer addressed the growing instability across different regions of the world, stating:  "Almost all countries are now being affected by instability. We envision the next century as the 'Century of Peace and Tranquility.' Under the leadership of our President, we are laying the foundations for this vision and working towards it. As a nation, we are striving to make Turkey an island of stability and to bring happiness, peace, and harmony to our brotherly nations and our cultural sphere."
