Turkish Communication Program for Public Officials and Academicians Closed for the Year 2023-2024.
Cuma, Temmuz 5, 2024KATİP (Turkish Language Program for Public Officials and Academicians), a program offered within the scope of Türkiye Scholarships, one of the attention-grabbing projects of Türkiye in recent years, closed for the year 2023-2024.
The Vice Rector of Hacı Bayram Veli University, Prof. Metin Orbay participated in the closing ceremony of “KATİP” conducted by the Presidency for Turks and Related Communities (YTB).
“KATİP” is a program that enables a group of public officials selected from around the world based on certain criteria to learn Turkish. This year’s education program has been completed. 17 participants from 16 different countries, among whom are diplomats, researchers, public officials and rectors, learned Turkish at the language centre at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University. The participants obtained a certificate of Turkish language proficiency at B2 level following an 8-month program which had started in November.
The participants of the program “KATİP” not only followed courses as they were in Türkiye but also visited some institutions, went on cultural trips and participated in academic seminars and social/sportive activities. To be more specific, they paid visits to several public and private institutions. They visited Ankara, Beypazarı, Konya, Çanakkale, Bursa and İstanbul and enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about Türkiye’s historical and natural attractions.
The Vice Rector of Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, Prof. Metin Orbay, gave a speech at the closing ceremony of the 2023-2024 year. He said they were proud to be a shareholder in KATİP together with YTB. Orbay praised the participants for the level of Turkish they attained at the end of the program and congratulated them on their success. He said, “You have learned more about Türkiye in terms of its history, culture, literature and people. I believe you will spread your positive views about our country when you get back home.”
The Vice President of YTB, Murat Kazancı underlined that the program was, in fact, the start of a new cooperation. Kazancı explained that KATİP has been continuing since 2014 and said that they wanted the participants to learn Turkish and strengthen their ties with Türkiye through this program. Mr. Kazancı wished the participants success in their future careers and said, “YTB is always ready to support you in your projects that aim to strengthen the ties between your countries and Türkiye. When you get back home, you will absolutely come across a graduate of Türkiye program with a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PHD degree. We wish that you establish contact with these people and get together with them.”
The participants who benefited from the program said that they were proud to be a part of KATİP family and thanked Türkiye for the knowledge and experience they gained in this country.
