The 5th International Young Writers Congress, organized in collaboration with the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and the Writers Union of Türkiye (TYB), has concluded with a closing and certificate ceremony held in Strasbourg. YTB President Abdulhadi Turus shared a powerful message: "Our goal is to exist in Europe not just as a population, but as an intellectual power."

The congress brought together young writers living in various European countries who produce works in Turkish with master authors. The program ended with a certificate ceremony in Strasbourg.

"Master-Apprentice Meeting"

The congress was organized to strengthen the foundations of European Turkish Literature and to elevate the bond between diaspora youth and their mother tongue to a literary depth. 40 young writers from 7 countries participated in workshops focusing on short stories, poetry, essays, and the world of thought.

The closing program was attended by YTB President Abdulhadi Turus, the Republic of Türkiye’s Consul General in Strasbourg Murat Onart, and TYB President Prof. Dr. Musa Kazım Arıcan.

"A School for European Turkish Literature"

Speaking at the ceremony, YTB President Abdulhadi Turus emphasized that YTB has opened a new intellectual vein in Europe through its "Telve" magazine and writing academies. Turus stated:

"These young minds, nurtured by the wisdom of Turkish in the heart of Europe, will become the intellectual laborers of the future through 'master-apprentice' training. This congress has served as a school for the construction of European Turkish Literature. Our effort is to ensure that our youth do not just hear what is spoken, but have something to say to the world. We are proud of our new generation of intellectuals who will keep the literary depth of Turkish alive in Europe."

Calling on the youth to use their pens not only as an aesthetic tool but also as a voice for justice, President Turus added: "May your pens always write the truth and be the voice of oppressed geographies."

Master Figures of Literature Met with Youth

During the program, young writers received technical and theoretical lessons under the guidance of esteemed names such as Prof. Dr. Muhammed Enes Kala, Prof. Dr. Dursun Ali Tökel, Mehmet Kurtoğlu, Dr. Musab Talha Akpınar, Dr. Yunus Emre Aydınbaş, and master short-story writer Necip Tosun.

The congress, which has become a tradition through the cooperation of YTB and TYB, ended with the presentation of certificates and a commemorative photo session.
