Turkish Tech Professionals Worldwide Unite on the TurkTechDiaspora Platform
Perşembe, Mayıs 29, 2025
With the support of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Turkish technology professionals around the world are now united under one platform: TurkTechDiaspora.
Launched following an event held in Amsterdam, the TurkTechDiaspora platform (turktechdiaspora.com), supported by YTB, brings together Turkish tech professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors from across the globe.
Designed to encourage knowledge sharing, foster collaboration, and build global connections, the platform connects Turkish tech talents spread around the world with each other and with Turkiye’s tech and entrepreneurship ecosystem. At the same time, TurkTechDiaspora supports joint projects by Turkish professionals abroad in fields such as technology, entrepreneurship, and investment.
At the launch event, which was attended by many guests, the mission and goals of the platform were announced. Interactive sessions were organized to encourage networking among participants. Turkish entrepreneurs operating abroad also had the opportunity to present their projects. Fatih Nişancı, Head of the Citizens Abroad Department, gave a speech, highlighting YTB’s work and stating that the organization places the Turkish diaspora at the center of its mission. Consul General of Türkiye in Amsterdam, Mahmut Burak Ersoy, also attended the event. He expressed his pleasure to come together with successful Turkish technology entrepreneurs at the first meeting of the platform.
Collaboration Is Key
Many Turkish tech professionals working abroad attended the event and shared their views. Among them was Çağla Kasapoğlu, a PhD holder in social psychology and an active entrepreneur. She noted the long-standing need among Turkish professionals for such a platform, saying: “Coming together, supporting one another, and collaborating in the search for investors is crucial. There are many areas where we can help each other.” Kasapoğlu emphasized that platforms like this offer great opportunities to expand professional networks and empower Turkish entrepreneurs abroad.
We Will Shrink the World by Strengthening Communication
Hasan Deniz, founder of a design-focused startup operating abroad, also shared his insights on the event. He said the gathering was productive in terms of identifying gaps in the sector and added: “We noticed our shortcomings in the industry and also realized the potential to work more closely together.” He stressed the importance of increasing communication among participants: “From now on, we will strengthen our connections. Increasing communication is one way of shrinking the world. And that’s exactly what we’ll do.”
Initiatives Uniting the Turkish Tech Community Are Invaluable
Onur Topal, who has led various projects in the finance sector and lives in the Netherlands, emphasized the importance of initiatives that bring Turkish professionals together. “This is a wonderful initiative. We have a lot of entrepreneurial friends and a lot of competent people who are professionalized in different lines of business that I would describe as immigrants. I am one of them.”
Topal pointed out the necessity of organizing such events for a community with such strong professional profiles. “Recent initiatives are far more concrete compared to the past, and we are highly pleased by that.”
He also appreciated the efforts of government representatives abroad:“Efforts to unite the business world are incredibly valuable. I support and thank those who take steps to bring the Turkish tech world together.”
I Saw Ways to Contribute to My Country
Kerem Peker, a second-year Artificial Intelligence student at Tilburg University, is one of many Turkish students pursuing their undergraduate studies abroad. Despite continuing his education in the Netherlands, Peker emphasized his desire to contribute to Türkiye: “As a Turkish student studying abroad, I’ve realized that even if I continue working here after graduation, there are still ways I can contribute to my country.”
Producing Together for the Turkish Diaspora Is Invaluable
Ceren Danış, who came to the Netherlands about 13 years ago for her undergraduate education, completed her bachelor’s degree in economics and master’s in finance. Today, she is a co-founder of her own company and plays an active role in the business world. As a woman entrepreneur, she especially emphasized the importance of such initiatives: “We believe that platforms like TurkTechDiaspora, where we can support each other, are very valuable. As someone who is aware of the power and value of the Turkish diaspora, I think such collaborations will be highly beneficial.”
Victor Boogers, a businessman who shared his thoughts at the event, said: “It’s great to see such an event organized on the 100th anniversary of the friendship between the Netherlands and Türkiye. Not only Turks but also Dutch guests attended and supported the gathering.”
