Türkiye Graduates Will Undertake Important Tasks in the Reconstruction of Syria

President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Abdullah Eren visited the cities of Aleppo and Latakia as part of his contacts in Syria. Eren, who met with the governors of the city here, gave information about the activities and services of YTB. During his visits, Eren said that Turkish graduates will undertake important duties in the reconstruction of Syria.


YTB ​​President Abdullah Eren met with the governors of Aleppo and Latakia as part of his working visit to Syria.

Eren, who met with Aleppo Governor Azzam el Garib, who is also a Türkiye graduate, drew attention to the importance of the city of Aleppo from past to present in his speech. Stating that Aleppo was one of the central cities during the Ottoman period, Eren emphasized that it was a very large and well-established city. Stating that Aleppo will rise stronger than before with the new administration, Eren congratulated the people of Aleppo for what they did during the revolution. Stating that he has full faith that the new administration will bring Syria back to its feet, Eren said, “Aleppo is the capital of our hearts. Aleppo was the provincial center during the Ottoman period. It is a very big and deep-rooted city. Hopefully, under your leadership, it will rise stronger than before. The Syrian people suffered a great hardship. We congratulate the Syrian people and society very much. This success is theirs. We were very, very happy for you." he said.

“We are sure that Syria will be revived by you”

Stating that they have witnessed people in Syria walking the streets freely and safely, Eren said, “We have had many Syrian friends, brothers, neighbors in Türkiye for the last 14 years. We have seen firsthand that Syrians are our brothers and people of good character. We got to know each other again. It’s a fact that this war was very bad. But we saw that we were brothers again. Everyone in Syria is capable of doing their best. We are sure that Syria will be revived by you. I hope this transition process continues very well. Safety of Syria is ensured, this is very important. International legitimacy is getting stronger day by day," he said.

Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib also expressed his satisfaction with the visit. Stating that YTB carries out important projects for the belonging of Turks living abroad to their homeland, Garib added that a significant part of the Syrian people are abroad and they want to carry out similar studies.

“Stability has also been ensured in terms of security”

As part of his contacts, YTB President Eren also met with Latakia Governor Muhammed Osman. In his speech here, he underlined that the Syrian people have deserved this victory for many years. Stating that Türkiye Graduates will undertake important tasks in the reconstruction of Syria, Eren said: “Seeing the Syrian people happy made us happy, too. One of the activities of our institution is to provide scholarship opportunities to international students at universities in our country. To date, we have given nearly 20 thousand scholarships to students coming from Syria to Türkiye to receive a university education. Our friends completed their education. Hopefully, they will also contribute to the future of Syria. As of now, there is a very good progress. Stability has also been achieved in terms of security. We congratulate you. Your success will be the success of all Muslims," ​​he said.

“You Welcomed Syrians to Your Country, You Extended a Helping Hand”

Latakia Governor Muhammed Osman also thanked YTB President Abdullah Eren for his contacts. Stating that they received the continuous support of Türkiye from the very beginning of the revolution until the moment it took place, Osman said, “You provided all kinds of assistance both here and to the Syrians who migrated to your country. You were particularly interested in health and other areas. You also made great efforts for their safety. You welcomed seriously ill patients to your country without wasting any time and extended a helping hand. The brotherhood of the two countries has been known from past to present. You especially provided scholarships to successful students who needed scholarships. I thank you on behalf of all the Syrian people," he said.
