Cuma, Temmuz 24, 2026

A “Road to Homeland” meeting was organized by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) in Niš, Serbia, which is one of the important stops on the journey of citizens living abroad traveling to the motherland during the summer months.

YTB President Abdulhadi Turus met with citizens traveling along the Road to Homeland route one by one and chatted about their journeys. Visiting families taking a break with their vehicles, Turus shared the excitement of citizens reuniting with their homeland while listening to their requests and views.

Within the scope of the program, Turkish coffee was served to citizens at the Road to Homeland mobile vehicle. Taking a short break from the fatigue of the journey, families found the opportunity to rest with YTB’s hospitality and warm conversation. Taking a close interest in children as well, Turus took souvenir photos with the families.

Speaking at the meeting, YTB President Abdulhadi Turus stated that the Road to Homeland is not merely a transportation route, but also a symbol of the strong bond that citizens living abroad establish with the motherland, and used the following expressions:

“We are delighted to meet with our citizens in Niš on the Road to Homeland. Sharing the excitement of our citizens who set off from different countries of Europe to reunite with their homeland is very valuable to us. As we shared our coffee, we listened to their longing, their road stories, and their yearning for Türkiye. We saw that the Road to Homeland connects not only countries and cities, but also people, memories, and hearts. I would like to thank all our citizens who shared the same coffee, the same table, and the same warm conversation with us in Niš, and I wish them a good and safe journey.”

During the meeting held within the framework of YTB’s Road to Homeland activities, citizens also expressed their satisfaction and thanked YTB and President Abdulhadi Turus for not leaving them alone during their long journey.
