     South Asia Media Training Program (SAMED)

SAMED is a short-term training program for early and mid-career journalists and the professionals in the media related sectors. SAMED program is organized by Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) in cooperation with Anadolu Agency (AA).

SAMED program aims to enhance the cooperation between Turkiye and South Asian countries by supporting experience sharing in the field of media. To ensure this, it offers both practical and theoretical training for 2 weeks duration and includes stakeholders visits.

Besides this knowledge sharing-based seminars and courses, SAMED also provides opportunity to empower cultural interaction through additional cultural events and city tours.

The program will be held between 15^th and 28^th of March 2020 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Eligible Countries

Applications will be received from 5 South Asia countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal and their diaspora members.

Application Criteria

Applicants should fulfill the following criteria:

• Should take a short video recording of up to 5 minutes to introduce themselves and explain why they would like to join the program in English language,
• Should be currently working in the field of media (Media related public institutions, private sector, NGO’s.),
• Should be born after 1980,
• Should be fluent in English,
• Should hold a valid Passport or a travel document recognized by the Turkiye.

Important Notes

• Applicants should carry a passport, or a travel document with an expiration date at least one year beyond the “duration of stay” of their visa, e-visa or visa exemption.
• The application form must be completed in English.  Click to download.
• Applications written in handwriting will not be processed and application form must be sent as a PDF file.
• The applications which does not include an introduction video will not be taken into consideration.
• Deadline of the application is 13^th of February 2020.
