Time for Turkish Project Support Program

Perşembe, Mart 11, 2021

Turkish children and young people living abroad grow up in multilingual and multicultural environments and built their own cultural identity based on two main spheres: Turkish language -Turkish culture and the linguistic-cultural resources of the countries where they live in.

In this regard, being fully equipped with Turkish language skills will enable the new generation to make sense of values, traditions and lifestyles of Turkish culture’s shared emotions and opinions. In this way, it will be beneficial for the citizens abroad to gain the ability to view the values of both the Turkish and the society they live in as a complementary richness without experiencing any cultural confliction.
It is clear that the Turkish language plays an important role in the self-confidence, social cohesion and benefit of the young people who can get to know themselves and the society they live in with their unique characteristics. On the other hand, our young people with access to such a cultural maturity will be a bridge between the country they grew up and Turkey, becoming individuals capable of contributing to the future of both countries.
To this end, our Presidency encourages the Turkish language and Turkish culture education activities carried out by Turkish NGOs abroad for many years within the scope of the Time for Turkish Project Support Program.
