TURKISH HOUR PROJECT SUPPORT PROGRAM

Children born and raised in societies where international migration has become a permanent reality, try to learn the world through two communication areas as multilingual individuals. The language development process of children growing up under the influence of multilingual and multicultural environments is one of the issues that need to be considered sensitively. Because, for the successful progression of these children's education life and second language learning processes, acquiring a healthy mother tongue during preschool and early school years is of great importance. Children who go through the multilingual education process healthily during childhood, learn to look at the world from different perspectives with the linguistic and cultural richness they have. Children who can look at life from this perspective understand the importance of contributing to both societies and creating a bridge between countries. The basis of turning a seed into a sapling and growing it into a tree that bears fruit for both societies is a healthy mother tongue education. For these purposes, our Presidency supports and encourages the institutionalization of Turkish education studies carried out by civil society organizations abroad for years with their own means within the scope of the Turkish Hour Support Program. YTB's Turkish language support has been combined under the name of the “Turkish Hour Project Support Program”.

Applications for the Turkish Hour Project Support Program will be received within the framework of the three modules detailed below.

Module 1- Seed: Establishment of bilingual playgroups in Turkish and the national language for preschool children,

Module 2- Seed: Turkish courses for school-age children and youth,

Module 3- Tree: Support for bilingual preschool education institutions providing services in Turkish and the national language.

MASTER'S PROGRAM IN TEACHING TURKISH TO TURKISH CHILDREN ABROAD

The Master's Program in Teaching Turkish to Turkish Children Abroad has been developed to train educators who will teach Turkish language and culture to our children living abroad. The program, which plans to train educators who will introduce Turkish culture to new generations living abroad, is presented for the attention of our citizens living abroad.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR EXPERTISE IN LAW

It is observed that over 7 million of our citizens, the majority of whom live in European countries, are increasingly subjected to discrimination and Islamophobia in many areas of daily life. In addition to the rights violations and discrimination they face in education, employment, public services, and social life due to being Muslim and/or Turkish, our citizens are also victims of hate speech and actions. There is a need for effective mechanisms in the countries where they live to help them seek their rights. The "Scholarship for Expertise in Law," developed to address this need, aims to establish cooperation between our lawyers and our civil society organizations in providing legal advice and guidance to our citizens on how to defend their rights and respond to the discriminatory practices and Islamophobic attacks they encounter in the countries where they reside.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR EXPERTISE IN FAMILY AND SOCIAL SERVICES

The family holds great importance as it is the first place where the needs and problems of more than six million of our citizens living abroad are observed, and as an institution where values and behavioral patterns are passed down from adults to children, ensuring the continuity of social life.

To support families and individuals, there is a growing need to increase the variety of services such as counseling, social support, and therapy for our citizens living abroad and to train the human resources that will provide these services. In this regard, it has been decided to offer scholarships for specialization training and therapy to our citizens living abroad who have graduated from relevant departments.

The "YTB Family and Social Services Expertise Scholarship," developed to address this need, aims to support professional certification programs that will enable specialists residing abroad who have university degrees in relevant fields (such as psychology, pedagogy, psychological counseling and guidance, social work, and related fields) to specialize in areas such as social work, therapy, or counseling.

Areas of Expertise

Experts in the field of family and social services work in child care homes, nurseries and daycare centers, orphanages, guidance and research centers, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, mental health institutions, nursing homes, prisons, juvenile detention centers, child welfare offices of police departments, and as expert witnesses in courts. Professionally, they can hold titles such as psychiatrist, psychologist, pedagogue, family counselor, therapist, elderly care specialist, social worker, social service interpreter, expert witness, or social worker.

Method

Candidates who are eligible for the scholarship are required to provide voluntary counseling services regularly, at least once a week for a minimum of six months, within the framework of their area of expertise, at a civil society organization or counseling center abroad that serves our citizens and is either designated by the Presidency or pre-approved by the Presidency. They are also obligated to submit regular reports about the counseling services provided within the timeframe deemed appropriate by the Presidency.
